Great Eastern Shipping acquires secondhand VLGC

India’s Great Eastern Shipping has signed a contract to acquire a secondhand very large gas carrier.

The 2006-built 81,605 cu m vessel is expected to join the company’s fleet in the second quarter of 2019.

Great Eastern Shipping has been expanding its LPG carrier fleet, having acquired a secondhand gas carrier in March and another one in April.

Currently the company’s fleet stands at 48 vessels, comprising of 29 oil tankers, five LPG carriers and 14 bulk carriers.
