Integrated Wind Solutions bags deal for newbuild CSOV

Oslo-listed Integrated Wind Solutions has entered a time charter contract for a commissioning service operations vessel (CSOV) at market terms with Dutch transmission system operator TenneT.

The charter contract, won by the company’s subsidiary IWS Fleet, has a minimum duration of four months. The vessel which will be used is the Skywalker-class vessel named IWS Windwalker. The contract will begin after the vessel arrives in Europe.

“We are pleased to announce our first charter contract with TenneT for our second vessel, the IWS Windwalker. The vessel will support maintenance for offshore substations in the Netherlands, demonstrating the ability of the Skywalker class to cover a range of requirements within offshore wind,” said Christopher Andersen Heidenreich, COO and managing director of IWS Fleet.

IWS currently has one CSOV in its fleet. The IWS Skywalker has already been delivered to the company and arrived to the Port of Hanstholm over the weekend. The IWS Windwalker was delivered from the shipyard earlier this month and is on its way to Europe.

Four more are under construction at China Merchants – the IWS Seawalker and IWS Starwalker are set to be delivered during 2024 while IWS Moonwalker and IWS Sunwalker are set to be delivered in 2025. The company still has options for two additional newbuilds.

Integrated Wind Solutions won two more deals for its newbuild vessels, one with Greece-based offshore contractor Asso.subsea and the other with wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa.
