Iranians seize tanker belonging to Chinese leasing company

The US Navy reported yesterday that Iran seized the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Advantage Sweet in the Gulf of Oman, 40 nautical miles southwest of Badar Jask. The vessel is on charter to Chevron, but importantly is owned by SPDB Financial Leasing of China, an ally of Iran’s.

Moments before the seizure, Advantage Sweet issued a distress call.

Iranian media claimed a regular Iranian Navy’ corvette seized the tanker and directed it to Iranian coastal waters, claiming the tanker had collided with an unidentified Iranian boat.

  1. The power of the USA dollar rests on the information from out satellites directing the might of our Navy to protect the world’s ocean trade routes. The putinland, iran, and north korea form a new axis of evil, of war, piracy, nuclear terrorism. China now is a heavyweight displacing the putinland from their Iran and Saudi connections: if China could influence them away from their criminal warmongering, great. We all hope reason prevails in China, whose biggest by far trade partners are the USA and EU. The only thing they have from the putinland is a lease for several decades of the regions of Siberia and Far East of russia that China hopes will be de facto Chinese even after the lease expires. But this part of the game would favor China if russia is weak, so we will see. The warrant comes just in time for Xi visit, so China knows, where the world stands for real : with Ukraine, protecting the gates of Europe and NATO. Without Chinese resources russian genocidal war will run out of steam in a year or two, provided the world keeps cutting russian energy profits

    1. Is sanctions are effective what would russia need money for??? I guess that the sanctions are not as effective as we all would like to believe. In Iran’s case it doesn’t seen to stop their nuclear progress. Same goes for north Korea. The population may suffer but not the rulers or their goals.

      1. Exactly .
Mr. Rich , sanctions suffered Iranian populations but it is our right when USA seized our oil , we do the same . We don’t have any war with them but they forced us to do the same . TIT for TAT policy .
        Thanks
