Maran Tankers doubles suezmax order tally at New Times

Maran Tankers, a unit of Greece’s Angelicoussis Shipping Group, has added to its LNG dual-fuelled suezmax newbuild orderbook in China.

The Maria Angelicoussis-led owner of over 50 tankers has firmed up four 155,500 dwt ships at New Times Shipbuilding for delivery between January and May 2027.

The move takes Maran Tankers’ order at the yard to eight vessels, following the original deal for four firm ships at $87m each and delivery in 2026.

With the four optional units exercised, Angelicoussis’ deal at New Times is now worth around $696m.

In June, Greece’s Capital Maritime and Trading and Polembros Shipping also booked a pair of suezmax newbuilding slots each at the Jiangsu-based shipyard.
