Odfjell Drilling secures more Norwegian Sea work for CIMC semisub

Oslo-listed semisub rig operator Odfjell Drilling has secured a contract from ConocoPhillips Skandinavia for the Deepsea Yantai rig.

The 2019-built semi, owned by CIMC Raffles Offshore, has been fixed for one well in production license 891 in the Norwegian Sea, with an option for two further wells.

Odfjell said the campaign should start in the third quarter of 2024 and last for about 72 days, without disclosing the financial terms of the deal.

Deepsea Yantai was earlier this year booked by PGNiG Upstream Norway for work in the second or third quarter of 2024. The latest deal should keep the rig busy into the fourth quarter of 2024.
