Ship runs aground off Palawan

Manila: A foreign vessel ran aground in Palawan in the west of the Philippines on Saturday morning. The MT Glenn Australia ran aground some 600 m from the shore in the north of Palawan. Local media said the ship is owned by Glenn Defense Marine (Asia) and operated by Singapore-based Shokuyo Navigation Co. The ship had around a thousand tons of palm oil as cargo. No oil spill was reported and towing is now underway.  [26/08/13]
