Beijing: HNA-affiliated Norwegian owner SinOceanic Shipping has signed a shipbuilding contract with Jinhai Heavy Industries to build ten 8,800 teu containerships for delivery from the middle of 2015. The total transaction, consisting of the combined value of the vessels and the charter parties, has a total gross value of approximately $2.4bn.
SinOceanic said all vessels will enter into long term, fixed charter parties upon delivery, and it will provide management services during the building process and after delivery of the vessels. [24/05/13]
