TechnipFMC wins subsea contract for Equinor’s Verdande project

New York-listed TechnipFMC has secured a contract to deliver a complete subsea production system for Equinor’s Verdande project on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The deal worth between $75m and $250m includes subsea trees and structures, control systems, connections, tooling, and installation support.

Comprising the Cape Vulture and Alve North-East discoveries, Verdande is located in the Norwegian Sea at water depths of 350-380 m, around 300 km southwest of the city of Bodø in North Norway. The field development project involves a subsea tieback to the existing Skuld field and Norne FPSO facilities.

Last December, Equinor, as the operator with a 59.3% stake, submitted the plan for development and operation to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The field is planned to be put on stream in the fourth quarter of 2025. The two discoveries contain a total of 36.3m barrels of recoverable oil equivalent.

Subsea 7 and DeepOcean consortium is in charge of engineering, transportation and installation of a kilometer pipe-in-pipe production pipeline, umbilical, flexibles, subsea structures and tie-ins.
