TFG Marine snaps up Spanish bunker supplier

TFG Marine, Trafigura’s marine fuel supply joint venture with John Fredriksen’s Frontline and Golden Ocean Group, is set to take majority ownership of Spanish bunkering player Vilma Oil Med.

The deal for an undisclosed sum is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to further expand TGF Marine’s bunker offer in the West Mediterranean.

It covers Vilma Oil Med’s bunkering service from the port of Ceuta in the Strait of Gibraltar, including an 84,000 cu m storage terminal and a bunkering barge, supplying over 1,500 vessels each year.

“Today’s announcement enables TFG Marine to supply vessels with a complete range of high-quality bunker fuel in the West Mediterranean Sea, which has long been our goal,” said Kenneth Dam, global head of bunkering at TFG Marine.

Established in 2020, TFG Marine supplies over 10m metric tonnes of bunker per year across 35 hubs globally.
