Titan adds to LNG bunkering fleet with Fratelli Cosulich newbuild charter

Dutch fuel supplier Titan has chartered in the first of the two LNG bunkering vessels Italy’s Fratelli Cosulich booked for construction in China.

The 8,200 cu m Alice Cosulich, built by Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering was recently delivered to Titan and will start operating in Europe in the fourth quarter of this year. The sister vessel is expected to deliver in the first quarter of 2024.

In January, Titan also purchased two small-scale LNG carriers from Stonepeak’s Canadian gas ship owner Seapeak for bunkering retrofits. The 2011-built 12,000 cu m Seapeak Unikum and Seapeak Vision will be retrofitted for both transport and bunkering of LNG, liquefied biomethane (LBM), and in the longer-term hydrogen-derived e-methane (e-LNG).

“This long-term agreement strengthens our collaboration with Fratelli Cosulich and further enhances our LNG and LBM bunkering capabilities to meet growing demand in Europe,” said Michael Schaap, commercial director of marine at Titan.
