DDW Offshore gets more work for AHTS in Australia

Norway’s DDW Offshore, a subsidiary of Akastor, has won a nine-month extension for an anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel from Petrofac to support the disconnection of the Northern Endeavour FPSO off Australia.

Initially, that task was given to the Skandi Atlantic in September 2027. The contract commenced on September 27 and was supposed to last one year.

In August 2023, the 2012-built vessel was fixed to Petrofac for an additional four months in direct continuation of the existing contract.

The extension kept the vessel supporting the disconnection of the FPSO Northern Endeavour together with towing and well isolation work in the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields in the West Timor Sea until the end of January 2024.

This most recent extension has an additional clause of replacing the Skandi Atlantic with the Skandi Emerald in March 2024. Both vessels will work on the same projects as previously agreed.

After demobilisation in March, Skandi Atlantic will undergo its special survey for class renewal in Singapore. It is expected to be available for a new contract by the end of April 2024.
