Rovco expands chartered-in fleet

UK offshore contractor Rovco has further bolstered its offshore wind business with another long-term charter deal.

The 2006-built Patriot has been chartered in for three years from Norway’s Sea Shipping.

The vessel will join Rovco’s existing two site characterisation vessels Glomar Supporter and Glomar Worker at the end of March and the company has the option to extend the charter by a further two years

Bristol-based Rovco said the vessel would be permanently installed with remotely operated vehicles and utilised to support assets across all lifecycles, including decommissioning.

“Expanding our fleet of vessels means we can support more stages in offshore wind – from survey stage right through to decommissioning, said Brian Allen, CEO at Rovco, adding: “By accelerating timelines and bringing down costs throughout the lifecycle of an asset, we can help change the economics of offshore wind and accelerate progress towards the UK’s 50GW by 2030 target.”
